Most weekends I take the kids SOMEWHERE, just to get them out of the house.  During the summer, it was swimming, almost every day and then on the weekends as well.  In the fall, we generally go to the parks around us and host cookouts for our friends.  But since school just started, I can’t seem to be able to find the energy or the desire to spend 6 days a week going and doing.  This was the 1st weekend after school started, and I honestly haven’t YET heard “Can we go…….”  Ahhhh, sweet peace.

NOT!!!

Yesterday I sold several items at www.onlineauction.com  I am grateful for every purchase that I make, but I felt the need to re-stock my items.   Since Tama wanted to play on the pc, I thought I’d take the opportuntiy to spend some time in the garage getting things ready to list.  You would not believe how much stuff is out there!!  I could just grab a box without looking and have plenty to sell!

So I found a variety of things to list [toys, books, collectibles, a picture frame, and more], and set about taking pictures in between washing clothes.  Meanwhile, Tama is plugging away at her game.  About two hours later, I let T know that I was ready to list.

I’m not exagerating when I tell you ~ It took me a good 4-5 hours to list those 30 or so items!!

My kids are normally self sufficient and often referred to as “good kids.”  Let me tell you, yesterday I had never before seen my children so needy!  Not to mention that every toy I listed Tama wanted [though she already has the same thing, which she can’t find]!  And they also know that this is what makes money for their Christmas presents and any extras they want along the way [heck, it NEEDS to be paying the bills right now!!!]

The plan was to list more today, but I think yesterday still has me a bit discouraged.  So instead I’m going to do a lot of “advertising” for ola today.  At least then I won’t feel as rushed and walking away won’t be an issue.

I’m not going to be posting lots of pictures, but please come by to check out my new wares.  I have listed Spongebob, batman, Bratz, books, a Pokemon Book, a vintage cookbook, a couple of vintage craft books, and so much more!

Been gone a while, with lots of things going on.  Had a great visit with my mother who was here for 3 weeks!  Now, between work and home, there seems to be no rest for the weary [lol]!  Time to get the kids ready to go back to school, at least Tama is excited about it [though that will change ith time, no doubt].  Cameron is at the point where he is counting down the years he has left!

Just wanted to share some of the newest happenings at www.onlineauction.com The site is growing by leaps and bounds with new upgrades, their own sponsored radio program, and now introducing Google Groups!

Esteemed member MetzyMom, at the suggestion of kaysatticspace, has implemented out own Google Group.  This is a place outside of www.onlineauction.com , created by and for the members, where we can join together to discuss items we are selling, items we are looking for, recent changes at OLA, changes we would like to see, and really anything of interest that pertains to our Online Auction World.

This is NOT an OLA members-only group, anyone interested is welcome to come in and stop by.  The main rule is that you “behave” and play nice [aren’t we adults, after all]!  This is a moderated group, with membership needing approval.  And this is NOT and OLA Afiliated Group.  It was created by the members, not the staff [though staff would no doubt be welcome!]

Stop in and join us, give us your insight as a seller, a buyer, or a browser.  All input will be welcome and appreciated

As I write this, there are currently 7307 auctions listed in the OLA Rummage Sale.  Some people have continued listing items to end on May 8, 2008, even knowing that they would not have the exposure gained by items that were listed earlier in the week.

New items keep appearing, and there are still a huge variety of items without bids [at this time].  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to grab a great item for a steal!!!!  Whether you are looking for home decor, computer parts, electronic gadgets and games, pet items, housewares, clothing ~ the list really does go on and on ~ there is something in the OLA Rummage Sale for everyone!

A number of new members have introduced themselves in our chat rooms ~ and everyone is welcomed warmly!!  Many new members have questions, and the members of OLA are always there to answer and help out as much as possible.  And let’s not forget the unheard of warmth of the OLA Customer Service department, which is literally only a phone call away!

The rummage sale is slowly coming to a close, but the excitement of the participating members is still evident.  Many are speculating on how many bids their items will actually receive, everyone seems thrilled with the number of new members who are coming into the chat rooms.

Will the OLA Rummage Sale be a success?  I think that it already has been a tremendous success.  It has brought the members of OLA together for a common goal, something that is not found on other auction websites.  The unity is felt and seen in the chat rooms, and no one can argue all that the OLA staff have also done to make this sale a success, from making a new category to adding a link on the home page.

And lets not forget OLA’s donation of the Dell Laptop Computers to the sale!  All proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital!

The excitement continues for Onlineauction.com members!!

EBay & Beyond: Basics to Business featured onlineauction.com and the Seller’s rummage sale for the entire 2 hours of their radio broadcast today!  OLA member and Rummage Sale organizer callmemomo was honored to be a guest of the eBay and Beyond radio broadcast, wheere she gave statistics for the Rummage Sale, as it stands for the morning!

Don’t miss out on this massive event, where OnlineAuction.com management donated 2 Dell laptop computers for the event, with all proceeds being donated to charity.  Sellers’ certainly outdid themselves for this event, with almost 7000 items listed.  Actual item count as I write is 6993.  The range of items for sale is endless, from antiques, collectibles, clothing, toys, crafts, housewares, and everything in between!

Don’t hesitate to listen to Dave and Sparky, along with Callmemomo with their update of the Rummage Sale at http://feed.basicstobusiness.com/

And don’t miss out on the Rummage sale!!!!  http://tinyurl.com/44vhg8

Yesterday was a huge day for OnlineAuction members!  With over 300 sellers participating in the Huge Rummage Sale Event, a total of  6600  items can now be found listed in OLA’s Rummage Sale Category.

Buyers and sellers wasted no time in searching through the many listings for items that they just couldn’t live without!  Many items already have numerous bids, only a day into the sell.  Many more items are yet to be discovered as members “rummage” through the many listings.

At the sale, you are sure to find items that you wouldn’t even think of, items of great value, even that one item that you have been looking for with no luck ~~ until now!!!!

As the weekend approached, many sellers are anticipating a huge influx of activity.  Regardless of the outcome, sellers who have spent their time and efforts organizing this event are STILL HAVING FUN as the event unfolds.

Keep watch, there is already talk amongst sellers as to what their next event might be.

May 1, 2008, also marks the beginning of the [1st ever?] OlineAuction.com seller’s Rummage Sale.  The excitement of the members of OLA cannot be denied now, as the event is only hours away.  Many people are still listing items, some are finished listing and anxiously waiting for the fun to begin.  Items are scheduled to begin at 12:01 am on May 1, and items will be listed throughout the day until 11:59 pm.

OnlineAuction.com has graciously donated 2 Dell laptop computers for the event [to start at .99!!!], and several members have listed collectibles, one-of-a-kind items, antiques, name brand clothing, you name it, chances are you will find it on OLA.

Maybe OLA is the place where IT has gone?!?!?

The May 1, 2008 Ebay Sellers and Buyers Boycott is only hours away from us!!  Hundreds, possibly thousands, of eBay members have planned and organized this event for months, due to the massive changes that eBay began implementing in at the beginning of 2008.

I did plan to participate in the boycott that took place in February, 2008.  I did actively research the boycott and the changes that eBay had announced prior to that.  However, while I support the upcoming boycott, I have not participated in any boycott of eBay.  I didn’t boycott ~ I left.  In late January, 2008, I moved my listings to onlineauction.com.  Yes, I have sparingly listed items on eBay, when the offered promotions and when it benefited me.  However, I have not had a monthly bill from eBay of more than $3.00 since January.

I do support the boycott, but I honestly believe that it will have little to no effect on the politics of eBay.  EBay has already made it clear that they do not want the “little seler,” and that those sellers that do decide to leave will either come back or be replaced.  In reality, eBay can do that.  I relate it to Wal-Mart or any other big chain.  If a few thousand people didn’t buy from their stores anymore, they wouldn’t even begin to feel the impact.

EBay will never be what it once was.  That is why I have chosen to make my home elsewhere.  At ola.com, I can be a part of the future of the site, and my opinion does matter.

So ask yourself, will you boycott ~~ or is it time to leave?

With just over 3 days left until The Huge Rummage Sale, you can literally feel the excitement of the members using the chat rooms!

Today the number of seller officially participating in the Rummage Sale rose to 312 [and counting].  All of those sellers made a commitment of at least 10 items in the rummage sale, but when roaming through the chat rooms, it’s easy to tell that most sellers have surpassed that number immensely!  Many sellers have finished listing items for the rummage sale, but even they know that listing the items was the easy part ~~~

Sellers are still handing out flyers in every place that they can think of.  Still other sellers continue listing the Rummage Sale on online advertising websites.  A number of sellers have e-mailed past customers or added information to all of their outgoing emails.  So much is being done by so many members, how could it be anything but a success?

Many sellers have previewed some of the items they have listed for the sale, but no one can be certain what, or how many, items will be listed as a part of the event.  But we can be sure that through all the elcectronics, collectibles, home decor, clothing, children’s items, books, and more, there will certainly be something for everybody.

Stop by, check it out.  You just might find the game your child has been begging you to buy, the hard-to-find piece to add to your collection, or that one thing that you just can’t say no to!!!
